Der berühmte Golfplatz ist regelmäßig Gastgeber der British Open und war Gastgeber des Open im Juli 2009.
Dies ist eine wirklich große Bewährungsprobe für Golfer mit spektakulären Löchern mit Blick auf den Atlantik. Wie St Andrews, Turnberry ist in den Top 10 der besten Golfplätze der Welt.
Wahrscheinlich der schönste Golfplatz in ganz Schottland, man muss ihm mindestens einmal in Leben gespielt haben.
Es gibt noch einen zweiten Kurs, die Kintyre.

Eröffnet im Jahr 1878, dieser Kurs ist ein kleines Juwel an der Küste der Stadt Troon.
Der Kurs hat viele British Opens inszeniert. Die Rück-9 ist eine der schwierigsten der Welt des Golfes und bietet grandiose "Suspense", wenn die Open in Troon ist.
Loch Nr. 8, ein Par 3 ist bekannt als "Briefmarke", und wie der Name schon sagt, ist es sehr klein und schwer zu treffen, vor allem wenn der Wind stark ist.
Zwei weitere Golfplätze sind in Troon Golf Club. Der Portland ist ein Links Kurse, und der Craigend ist ein Par 3 Kurs.

Dieser Kurs, gegründet 1851, ist voll von Geschichte, vielleicht, weil es der erste Gastgeber der British Open im Jahr 1860 war.
Es war ein 12-Loch-Platz, statt eines 18-Loch-Golfplatzes. Zu dieser Zeit wurde der Open  über 36 Löcher (3 mal 12 Löcher) gespielt. Die Trophäe war ein Gürtel mit rotem Leder, bevor er durch den berühmten "Claret Jug" gewechselt wurde.
Dies ist ein schöner Links Golfplatz mit viel Charme. Das 17. Loch ist die Signatur mit seinem riesigen Bunker.
Für Ihre Information,  Jacke und Krawatte müssen getragen werden, wenn Sie die Möglichkeit haben, einen Drink an dem 19. Loch geniessen zu dürfen.

Gegründet im Jahre 1787, Glasgow Gailes ist der 9. älteste Golfplatz der Welt.
Es ist eine gepflegte Parklandschaft, wo Sie noch die ursprünglichen Linie spielen, die Old Tom Morris im Dezember 1903 entworfen hat.
Der Kurs war Gastgeber von vielen renommierten Veranstaltungen in den letzten Jahren.
Dies ist ein ausgezeichneter Links mit hügeligen Fairways und Greens, die eine sehr gute Herausforderung für die Guten und weniger erfahrenen Golfer.

Founded in 1896, the Portland Course is a fine links course which is, unfortunately, totally overshadowed by the Championship Course.
